UANews Campus Ministry Association establishes
Ken Smith Scholarship Award
The CMA at The University of Alabama announced the establishment of the “Rev. Ken Smith Humanitarian Award celebrating Ken’s dedication to the well being of God’s people by honoring students who are leaders in social justice and mission.” The CMA will select a recipient each year who will receive a scholarship and whose name will be included on a plaque at the Wesley Foundation. The first recipient is Heather Mackel from St. Francis Catholic student ministry. The award was presented by Rev. Scott Thayer, president of the CMA, and campus minister at First Christian Church. The award was a surprise to Ken and was presented at the beginning of Wesley’s 75th Anniversary Celebration on April 26. |
