Welcome, friend!

       We're mighty glad you stopped by . . . . . .

Trinity congregation is a main-stream Protestant church, a member of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church.  We are located right on the southern edge of the campus of The University of Alabama because our predecessor, Brandon Memorial Methodist Church, was commissioned by the North Alabama Conference in 1911 in order to serve the campus of "the new college 'way out on the edge of Tuscaloosa."  We still feel that one of our main missions is to serve the needs of students, faculty and staff of this great university from our Methodist point of view.

There are so many things we want you to know about us and what we have for you in our fellowship.  This website will reveal to you many of the activities going on here at Trinity.  Here you will find opportunities to grow in your spiritual life and opportunities for you to serve God and your neighbor.

But first, here are a few of the things that we believe and profess as members of the United Methodist Church:

"Belong,

Believe,

                        Become"

Our mission statement here at Trinity says that we are "a place that searching people can belong, believe and become in Christ Jesus."

This means that we want you to come and experience the fellowship we have to offer whether you are a long-time sojourner in your walk with Jesus, perfecting your faith . . . or if you are still skeptical about the claims of religion, much less Methodism.  Trinity is a place where you are welcomed, where you will find love and acceptance, and where you will be engaged in a dialog on issues of faith.

We want you to find a sense of "belonging" first.  Over time, you will be exposed to the actions and examples of ordinary and exemplary men and women of God, and the teachings and discussions, the sharing of the Word and the prayers of individuals and the congregation that will provide food for thought, meditation and decisions in your spiritual life.

At all stages of your spiritual life, here at Trinity you will be challenged to participate in service to others.  Some find enormous fulfillment in service, describing this as "becoming" more like Christ as they practice Christ-like behavior helping others, leading to their spiritual growth as well.
