The Chancel Window

The window behind the choir loft is not one of the original stained glass windows installed in 1949 when the sanctuary was completed, and it is noticeably of  different color and style.  It is the only window which depicts the figure of Jesus Christ and is artificially lighted from behind.

This window symbolizes the scriptural passage from Revelation 3:20:  "Listen!  I am standing at the door knocking;  if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me."

This window was given in memory of Dr. Houston Wilson, Jr., following his death on March 2, 1955, by his family.
