The Trinity Window

Starting from the back of the sanctuary, the first window on the west wall contains a medallion which carries representations of the Holy Trinity.  The Father is symbolized by the Hand of God (Latin form, but with palm inward) extending from the Crown.  Thus are combined the idea of the Crowning Majesty and Protecting Hand of God.

The Lamb of God (Agnus Dei) represents the Son.  As used here, the Agnus Dei is lying on the Book of Seven Seals.  The three-rayed nimbus crowning the head is the symbol of divinity.

The Holy Spirit is symbolized by the Descending Dove.  Below the Dove is the seven-fold flame symbolizing the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit:  power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing (Revelation 5:12).

This window was given in memory of Sara Anne Duren by the J. R. Duren Family.
