Cookie Tent on the lawn for Registration Days
This event took place August 21, 22, 23, and
24, 2006
Our church is located "smack dab"
between two popular bookstores for University students. For years, we have baked homemade cookies,
made up batches of lemonade, put up a tent on the front lawn of the
church and passed out these goodies to students during the days of
registration, orientation and the first days of classes. Due to the
beastly heat of late August, most folks prefer our bottled water, but just
ask for it and the hosts will serve you up some old-fashioned lemonade to
go with the homemade cookies.
The service is free to all who stop by, but we do take the opportunity to welcome the students back to school and tell them of the opportunities for worship and support that await them at Trinity.
Here we are, waiting to welcome you!
We've even opened an annex across the street!
You still get the same friendly welcome, cookies and bottled water.
Fellowship Hall is filled with students and Trinity members for this celebration.
Right after classes begin and students are settled into their new semester on campus, Trinity holds its Back-To-School celebration. The sanctuary is once again filled with the bright, young faces of the students and we members are thankful. Methodists express their thankfulness with dinners.
Again this year we turned our entire "Wednesday Nite at Trinity" into a "Welcome Back, Students" celebration. You were our GUESTS OF HONOR at the special supper for you.
In addition to the great food, students found new friends among the other students who attended and among the Trinity members who were there. Information about the programs Trinity offers students was available.
