During church school we use a rotation model where the learners are exposed to a Biblical text based on different learning styles of the children.
Elementary Group (1 through 5 grades)
The first Sunday each month the children will participate in Biblical text activities that integrate gaming experiences.
The second Sunday each month they will participate in Biblically based computer generated experiences.
The third Sunday each month the activities will integrate storymaking, movement and music experiences.
On the fourth Sunday the Biblical text will focus on art and storytelling experiences.
Preschool Group (about age 3 through kindergarten)
On the first and third Sunday each month the children will participate in a classroom set up with learning centers. Typical centers include: art center, story center, science/artifact center, Computer center, home living center and block-building center. The Biblical text is integrated either directly or indirectly in these centers, taking advantage of the teachable moment.
On the Second Sunday the Biblical text learning experience is based on art and storytelling.
On the fourth Sunday the Biblical text learning experience is based on storymaking, movement and music.
All of the children meet together each fifth Sunday for breakfast and a special activity.
