If there's anything that the Bible is unambiguous about, it's the exhortation of the faithful to pray. We are told to pray without ceasing, pray earnestly, pray believing, pray in secret, pray not using vain repetitions, pray to avoid temptations, pray for healing afflictions, pray everywhere, and on and on. |

| Trinity
has an active focus on pragmatic and covenantal prayer. Adult
Sunday school classes have their prayer boards to notify class members of
those in need of prayer.
There is a general Trinity Prayer Chain which, when activated by a phone call from someone with a current urgent need, will bring prayer warriors from all parts of the Trinity family into immediate intercessory prayer. Billie Gleisberg chairs this committee. If you feel the urging to become a part of this important group, contact Billie or Rev. Michelle Hindman. |

Just walk by the church office and you will notice the "Hospitalized" list. You'll also find links to the prayer lists on this page. Remember these names and pray for them (or visit them, or send them a card or reassuring note of your concern and love). |

| These
last two links will take you to United Methodist websites that offer many
resources that will help you develop your prayer life. Just click on
the link and then browse around to find what you need.
Later on, I will add links to other prayer support web pages that may not be United Methodist. If you do not agree with my choices, please contact me (Louis Buettner), but I find that beautiful prayer and useful advice about praying are transdenominational. |

Confirmation Classes Pray for these students and their families.
Confirmation is a time of learning how the United Methodist Church defines itself and who we are in Christ. Pray that these young students will become well-prepared for a lifetime of walking the path that leads to life eternal.

From the Upper Room (October 24, 2007) Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. -Philippians 4:6 (NRSV) MY friend, Eve, gave me a "God bag," which has taught me a new method of prayer that is simple and effective. Eve got a brown paper lunch bag and wrote on it, in purple ink, "Robin's God Bag." Then she gave it to me with instructions to write on slips of paper my concerns and worries and to put the slips of paper in the bag. My God bag has become a powerful spiritual tool. Writing down my prayers requires me to think about what I want or need or what I wish for another person. In the process, my prayers become clearer. Writing down prayers and putting them in the bag make my concerns tangible. When I begin to fret, I remember that I have taken my concerns to God and that I no longer have to worry about them. I can look back and see that I have prayed. My concerns are in God's hands. I can let go. Using the God bag, I have come to expect answers to my prayers, and I am more sensitive to God's answers when they do come. Since my God bag is such a good gift, I have made one for each of my children. I have taught my children how to use their God bags, and now they can experience for themselves a life of prayer. Robin Priestley (New Mexico, U.S.A.)
Prayer Dear God, teach us new ways to pray, and help us to listen for your answers. Amen.
