FT. WALTON BEACH, Fla. Sarah
Graham Cork, age 87, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., formerly of Tuscaloosa,
died July 26, 2007, at Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center. Services will be
2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church with
Rev. Dan Kilgore and Rev. Alan Head officiating. Burial will follow in
Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity
Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m.
at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services
at the church.
Her husband, Walter C. Cork, three brothers and four sisters preceded her
in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Sallie Reeder Colwick (Larry) of
Huntsville, Ala. and Candy Williamson (David) of Niceville, Fla.; sister,
Lois Hulsey of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister-in-law, Willene B. Graham of
Mobile, Ala.; brother-in-law, Wilburn Hamner of Romulus, Ala.;
grandchildren, Jeremy Reeder (Stephanie), John Reeder, Luke Williamson
(Melanie), Paul Williamson (Heather) and Katie Williamson; and great
grandchildren, Mark and Julian Reeder, Ian and Abby Williamson.
Sarah was born on December 7, 1919, in Romulus, Tuscaloosa County, to John
C. Graham and Preasha East Graham. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County
High School in 1937. She worked as a salesperson at Sears, Belk Hudson and
J.C. Penney, and as a librarian at Jemison School. She was the activity
director at Heritage Nursing Home and was president of the Alabama
Association of Activity Co-ordinators.
She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa.
She was awarded lifetime membership in United Methodist Women.
She and her husband owned and operated Corks Christmas Tree Farm in
Tuscaloosa County. In 1991 she published a children's book about their
experiences, "The Bottlestoppers Christmas Tree Farm".
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Lyman Hulsey and David Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are the Fellowship Sunday School Class and Explorers
in Faith UMW, and the Tuscaloosa County High Class of 1937. |
