Religion is serious business, but the Bible, the base of our Christian religious thought and practices, contains many forms of humor in the wordplay used by the authors. Witty passages, puns, irony, satire and description of outrageous or hilarious behavior occur and, doubtless, brought chuckles from readers in ancient times and on up to our present day. Here are a few of modern-day examples of humor related to our religious life. Many of these are circulating around the ether of the Internet in the form of "Forwardings"--those cutesy messages that are received by friends who believe that the best medicine is laughter, so they send the "dose" on to all their friends with e-mail addresses. Here, too, you will find gleanings from other sources, as well as some of the articles on biblical humor. Trinity is blessed with members who have creative talents, so you will find examples of some of their work here, too. We hope the humor brings a smile to your face and that the articles on our talented fellow Trinity members will impress you so that you will contribute your favorite stories or examples of your creations, too!
