Jim Taylor

Director of Music Ministries

Jim Taylor is Director of Music Ministries at Trinity, and October 21 was the first Sunday on which he directed the Trinity choir, much to the delight of the congregation that morning.

Jim has been directing church music in a full-time capacity for more than 20 years in churches in Florida, Colorado, and, most recently, Huntsville, Alabama. He studied Music Composition as an undergraduate at Florida Atlantic University, as a graduate student at the University of North Texas, and earned a master's degree from the University of Miami. He has studied further with many of the choral luminaries of our day, including Robert Shaw, Helmuth Rilling, Donald Neuen, and John Rutter.

Mr. Taylor has twice been invited to conduct the Kiev Symphony Orchestra & Chorus in Ukraine in the music of Mozart, Handel, Vaughan Williams, Ravel, and William Walton. His choral music is published by Oxford University Press, Hinshaw Music, Colla Voce, Choristers Guild, and other music publishers.  He is the founder of the 100-voice Jacksonville (FL) Children's Chorus, and was director of the Jacksonville Masterworks Chorale.
