Building Rock-Solid Love,

Living Rock-Solid Grace

Matthew 7:24-27

This familiar passage in Matthew is about building our houses on rock or sand.  Any sensible person will admit that building a house on sand isn’t the best choice.  Unfortunately, though, because of poverty and discrimination we don’t all have the same choices. While some live in relative secure life situations, many others in our own community live in quick-sand like life situations.  Thankfully, we worship the One who came to eliminate poverty, discrimination, and sandy situations.  We worship Christ, the One who teaches us to build rock-sold love and to live rock-solid grace, a love and grace that will not fail beneath us.

Trinity is proud to sponsor another Habitat FaithBuild home.  Our efforts will enable a family to reach beyond the unstable sandy ground of desperation to take a step, through love and grace, onto solid ground.   

FaithBuild is not a project for a select few.  Each and every one of us is needed to effect a change. 

Ways you can help:

• Sign up to work. Every second Saturday is Trinity’s turn to actually work on building the home.  No experience necessary.  Sign up cards are in the pews.

• Buy a house.  Any donation to Habitat in honor or memory of a loved one will receive a paper house to place on the Habitat Wall by the nursery.  Our goal is to fill that wall with houses to remind us that building love and living grace sustains communities.

• Buy a board.  $50 will purchase a 2x4 that will actually be used in the construction of the house.  Anyone who purchases a board will be able to write their prayers and dreams to and for the family on the board. 

We are all called to build love and live grace.  How will that call come to life in you?
