| Help Write Trinity's History! | |
![]() There are pieces missing from the puzzle. . . . . do you have them? |
Isn't
it funny how, no matter how hard you try, there are always some bits and
pieces of information about even the most revered things in our lives that
are missing. This is especially true for Trinity United Methodist
Church. If you count Brandon Memorial Methodist Church as
"Trinity Before the New Building," our church history goes back
to 1910.
We would like to know more about the early years of our congregation. We've made our appeal to our own current members to let us see and/or use the memorabilia and photographs of activities, programs, trips, special events and architectural highlights of the history of our church. We hope that any of you who are old Trinity members who have moved away from Tuscaloosa, are University of Alabama alumni who attended worship services and participated in the activities of the church while here in Tuscaloosa, or were friends of Trinity or Brandon in Tuscaloosa or formerly from Tuscaloosa who have anything that relates to important events in the life of our church will happen upon this web page and contact us to see how you can help us write the story of Trinity. |

Got old photographs? If you will loan them to us we will scan them to make digital images and return the originals to you. If you have copies made and wish to donate them to our archives or wish to donate your originals to our archives for the permanent collection, please indicate your donation in your transmittal letter, so we won't automatically send them back to you. The source of these valuable gifts will be noted on all published images. If you provide a statement of expenses you incurred in making such a donation, we will gratefully acknowledge it for your tax purposes. |

Got memorabilia? If you have a file or a scrapbook with photos, brochures, correspondence, minutes of church meetings, or news items about Brandon, Trinity or members of these two (actually one) congregations, we would very much like to view it and, if possible, prepare a facsimile or digital copy of the important documents and photos. If feasible, one of our Archives Committee members will come to your home or office and view the collection and discuss with you how we might accomplish the task of including the material in our archives collection while preserving your property safely. If you have physical items from the early life of Trinity or Brandon and wish to have it housed in a collection that reveres the past while teaching the generations of the future about their heritage, we would be grateful for such donations. We will provide you with grateful acknowledgement for your tax purposes. Remember, if you plan a donation of "art" (which includes antique furniture), and its value is over $20,000, you need to have an appraisal within 60 days before the donation for federal tax purposes. |
