Quick jumps: Click on the links below to go directly to the description of each class. ..................... The Upper Room Faith Seekers Sisters in Christ Fellowship Class Concord Class Map to Classrooms |
The Sunday School hour begins
at 9:30 a.m., but many of the adult members of the various
classes attend the short Chapel Communion and Meditation in
the McLelland Chapel at 8:45 a.m. and then gather in the
Sunset-Funset Room for coffee, breakfast goodies and
fellowship. So many class members are in a great mood
for the Bible study or the topical studies conducted in
their respective classes. Classes have been organized to serve the needs of members of various age groups, but some which were designed for young adults 50 years ago now have many of the same members without a name change or "graduation" of the members to another class. Some follow a standardized Bible study and others may utilize a more free-form study of how the Bible and the church speaks to contemporary issues and situations. Typically, the classes are led by lay members of the class, and the Sunday morning agenda may include hymn-singing, class business such as special missions support, planning for class socials and prayer . . . followed by the lesson for the day. Look over the following descriptions of the 5 adult classes. You are sure to find one which suits your needs. It is our contention that the strongest congregations are built upon close-knit small groups, and a Sunday School Class is the best "building block." ![]()

The Upper Room Meets in Room 210 We are a mix of 20 & 30-somethings (and a couple of folks in the group just turned 40). We have a very active group of about 20 regulars on the class roster and generally have anywhere from 8 and up on Sundays. Class members can be found helping with the children and youth and serving on a wide variety of church committees. Our Sunday School 'lessons' typically follow a book that we choose together as a class and then take turns leading the discussions. We also enjoy getting together for social outings. All are welcome, so come and try us out! We meet on the second floor of the education wing down the hall from the choir room. |

Faith Seekers Meets in Room 201 The Faith Seekers are a group of middle-aged (35-60 years of age) adults who informally discuss current events in light of biblical scripture. We select books of interest and explore material lending itself to application/discussion of how history parallels' current-day society. We seek to incorporate lessons into our current everyday lives. We are currently studying Direction: Discernment for God's Voice by Cheri Cowell. Weekly reading each section of the book that will be the topic discussed in Sunday School is not a necessity; however, a current appreciation of the text is helpful. Members: Mark and Lynette Versace; Jeanie and Lewis Shumaker; Phil and Sheila Madison; Lara Townsley; Jeff and Candace Gregg. |

Sisters In Christ Meets in the Sunset-Funset Parlour (Room 116) The Sisters in Christ class is made up of women of all ages. The group selects books of interest to study on the basis of their likelihood that the group will embrace new knowledge and understanding of the Bible. Examples of books we have studied include: What's so Amazing about Grace, by
Phillip Yancey
Some Folks Feel the Rain and Others Just Get Wet, by James W. Moore More Bad Girls of the Bible, by Barbara Essex |

Fellowship Class Meets in Room 105 Trinity's Fellowship Class is comprised of "something old then something new." As far back as Brandon Memorial, to the Alberta Methodist few. The Men's class joined us last year. John Yeager's teaching they wanted to hear. Sarah Caldwell needed help to deliver church flowers to home-bound and sick. Three from Alberta (June, Eva, Margie) offered their services quick. In 2010 we made a great decision. Not only would we assist Carol Taylor's mission But we adopted a 6 year old girl in Nicaragua, Her name is Layescha Tathiana Reyes Parra. -Anonymous As indicated in the above ditty, The "New" Fellowship class is made up of several previously independent classes (the "Old" Fellowship Class and the Libnah Class) and a major number of the members of the now decommissioned Alberta United Methodist Church. John Yeager, a long-time adult studies teacher at Alberta, was just the person to crystallize this class, as he possesses wonderful teaching skills and is an interesting and persuasive speaker, well-organized and totally Bible-based. |

Concord Class Meets in Room 101 The Concord Class was formed over 50 years ago with a few of the present members as participants. A class of 30+, at this time, we average 18 adults m attendance on Sunday morning. We use the Adult Bible Studies series, a resource of the United Methodist Church which is based on International Sunday School lessons for Christian teaching. Five or six designated members rotate leading the class discussion each Sunday. We participate in several outreach activities. Three specific ones are the Navaho Indian Reservation project, the Bustamante Outreach project m Mexico and Trinity's mission endeavors in Chacraseca, Nicaragua. |
